Night of Contemporary Organ Music

The Night of Contemporary Organ Music presents organists from Berlin and other cities as well as internationally renowned composers. Venues are the Kaiser-Friedrich-Gedächtniskirche Berlin Tiergarten and the Lutherkirche Spandau.

The organ night sets different priorities each year and gives great importance to the "view behind the scenes": in conversations with the composers and with the interpreters, the listeners learn more about playing techniques and special challenges.

As a metropolis of contemporary music, Berlin has international recognition. The night of contemporary organ music provides an insight into the diverse scene of contemporary organ music.

In 2011, Berlin already hosted a festival for contemporary organ music with the festival OTON which took place in the Kaiser-Friedrich-Gedächtniskirche and other venues. Six years later, in 2017, the »Night of Contemporary Organ Music« was launched in the Kaiser-Friedrich-Gedächtniskirche, which in 2018 was expanded to include the venue in Spandau.
