International Sound Art Festival Berlin 2017 – Festival of Actual Sounding Art

Kulturaustausch :: Cultural Exchange – an intercultural search for traces

This year Sound Art Festival Berlin (founded in 2004) explores not only spaces between common genres and types of art, but also intentions, aesthetic strategies and interdependencies between different artistic cultures. The focus 2017 lies on intercultural differences and melting points of specially chosen contemporary artists working in Berlin. They are asked to create a new work that reflects their own cultural roots. Together with a lot of world premieres the public can witness a concert of “Intercultural Music Pool”, an improvisation orchestra currently founded in cooperation with Exploratorium Berlin.

The special approach of inter art project does not intend to destroy existing and (temporarily?) sensefull genres and categories of art forms. The main aim is to broaden and to hone the skills of artistic perception, to explore the permeability of aesthetic borderlines – and again and again enjoy new experiences and artistic experiments!

International Sound Art Festival Berlin addresses not only the dear specialists but everybody who is interested or can be interested in contemporary sounding art forms. Free entrance.

Event takes place at: Bibliothek am Luisenbad, Travemünder Str.2, 13357 Berlin
