Applicants may only submit one project application per year. Applications must be submitted entirely in German. Eligible to apply are all artists/actors whose primary residence is in Berlin. For postal applications, the date of the postmark must be no later than 15th October.

A complete application consists of:

  • Completed inm-application form (Download, Recommendation for MAC - User: Download via SAFARI)
  • Detailed project description
  • Detailed budget (inm Download to be used only, Recommendation for MAC - User: Download via SAFARI)
  • Venue confirmation
  • Copy of the identity card or the registration certificate of the primary residence in Berlin

In addition, optionally:

  • Documentation of previous projects
  • Additional material (non-returnable)
  • Artistic CV

Each application must be printed out in eight copies.

Incomplete applications or applications received after the closing date will not be presented to the jury.
Due to the volume of applications, the inm is unable to follow up individual applications with missing or incorrect documents.

The following expenses are eligible for funding:

  • Rehearsals for the development and production of projects which will be publicly presentated.
  • Project-related composition fees.
  • Production of audio-visual content necessary for the realisation of the project, excluding audio-visual for commercial use.
  • All production costs incurred in connection with the project, e.g. advertising costs (design, production and distribution of posters, flyers, programme booklets, admission tickets or other advertising material), travel costs to Berlin as well as accommodation costs in Berlin within the framework of the Federal Travel Expenses Act, technical costs, rent (rooms, instruments, equipment, sheet music etc.), GEMA fees, artists' social security contributions in accordance with the artistic fees incurred, tax deduction for those with limited tax liability ("Ausländersteuer").

The following expenses are not eligible for funding:

  • Long-term rent for offices
  • Basic expensess for fax, telephone, internet and account management, magazine subscriptions.

  • Insurance fees, representation and hospitality expenses.

  • Expenses for the use of taxis will only be accepted in exceptional cases that are justified and clearly documented (see the guidelines of the current information sheet on the reimbursement of travel and accommodation costs).

  • CD productions and publications are not eligible for funding.
